Short version: you're an independent contractor who earns 60% of each delivery. Post your route, handle items with care, show up on time, and follow the rules — and this works great for everyone.
Drivers on OnYourRoute are independent contractors, not employees.
This means:
If you're unsure about your tax obligations as a self-employed contractor in Ontario, the CRA's website is a good starting point.
For every delivery completed through OnYourRoute, you earn 60% of the total delivery fee paid by the sender. The platform retains 40% to cover matching, payment processing, and platform costs.
Payments to drivers are processed via Stripe Connect. You'll need to complete a Stripe onboarding to receive payouts — this typically takes 5–10 minutes and requires basic identity verification.
The platform fee covers operating costs and is non-negotiable. If you post a trip and accept a delivery, you agree to the 60/40 split that applied at the time of acceptance.
When you list a route and accept a delivery on OnYourRoute, you take on the following responsibilities:
Do not accept deliveries involving the following:
If you discover a prohibited item after accepting a delivery, do not proceed. Contact the sender and, if necessary, contact OnYourRoute support. You will not be penalized for refusing a prohibited delivery.
If you knowingly carry prohibited items, your account will be removed immediately and we reserve the right to report the activity to appropriate authorities.
OnYourRoute connects senders with drivers. We are not a carrier. We do not take possession of items, we do not employ drivers, and we do not have a contract of carriage with senders.
As a driver, you are entering into a direct arrangement with the sender when you accept a delivery. You take on responsibility for the items from the moment you accept them at pickup until delivery is confirmed at drop-off.
OnYourRoute provides a matching platform on an "as is" basis. We are not responsible for losses arising from transactions between drivers and senders, including lost items, damaged goods, failed deliveries, or disputes between parties. Our liability to you as a driver is limited to the platform fees we collected from your deliveries.
Life happens. If you need to cancel a confirmed delivery:
If you don't show up for a confirmed pickup without notice, that's a no-show. No-shows are treated seriously:
If a sender cancels after you've already traveled to the pickup location, the refund and compensation situation depends on the circumstances. Contact support at hello@onyourroute.polsia.app — we review these on a case-by-case basis.
You're free to stop using OnYourRoute at any time. Just don't leave active delivery commitments unfulfilled. Complete any accepted deliveries before deactivating, or cancel them with appropriate notice to the sender.
OnYourRoute reserves the right to remove a driver from the platform at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to:
In cases of serious misconduct, removal is immediate and without prior notice.
By posting a trip listing on OnYourRoute, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Driver Agreement. You don't need to sign anything — posting a trip is acceptance of these terms as they exist at the time of posting.
We may update this agreement from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and note significant changes. Continuing to post trips after an update means you accept the revised terms.
